Zara's New "Ugly" Leggings Are Sure to Be Controversial

Allyson Payer

At this point, you're probably pretty in the know about the state of the "ugly" trend (which most often translates to shoes and pants) and the legging trend. These have been two of the hottest topics in the fashion world for a couple of years now, so when we saw that Zara decided to combine the two trends for its new City Lights collection, let's just say that we stopped what we were doing to study each pair of Zara's new "ugly" leggings.

In case you hadn't guessed, these are not your average black or gray leggings. In keeping with the theme of bold color and prints for the collection, Zara's new arrivals include a pair of shiny blue stirrup leggings, bright emerald-green slit-front leggings, and two graphic floral prints (one of which is also a stirrup). To take it a step further, Zara's stylists even paired them with bold floral-print and striped tops and shiny bright stilettos to create completely out-there looks.

If you're the type of girl who wears leggings to and from Pilates and that's it, these may not be for you, but either way, you need to see Zara's new '80s-inspired pieces to believe them.
