It Will Soon Be Much Easier to Walk in Heels in NYC

As Gothamist reported, New York City's Mass Transportation Authority is taking into account women's heels when designing the city's sidewalk grates. The site obtained this statement from the MTA: "In order to be easier to navigate for those wearing high-heeled shoes, the sidewalk 'high-heel friendly' grates are made with slip-resistant surfaces and the openings between the cross-bars are only 1/2 inch wide." So there you have it, lovers of five-inch heels: New York City is officially on your side.
