Pause: This Boot Trend Is Incredibly Flattering

Lauren Eggertsen

Flattering ankle boots: Could sweeter words ever be spoken to a true fashion girl? Because if we're being honest, finding that perfect pair—the kind that doesn't cut off the line of our leg, goes with everything, and is (of course) on trend—is difficult. Luckily we finally found a style that can do all the above—pointed-toe stiletto-heel ankle boots. On the F/W 17 runways, aka the breeding ground for most trends, designers such as Off-White, Altuzarra, and Balenciaga celebrated this style in a plethora of textures and colors, and soon after, we saw the trend grace the feet of street style stars left and right.

So what makes this particular ankle boot trend so exceedingly flattering? For starters, pointed toes on any shoe style elongate the line of the leg, making the wearer appear taller. Additionally, skinny stiletto heels can prove to be extremely versatile, suitable for styling with a large variety of pieces in your closet. Basically, this ankle boot trend is a win-win. Don't worry—we're not suggesting you give up your block heels just yet. Consider these their sharper cousin, the shoes you put on to add a little more polish, a bit more height, and a lot more confidence.

Go on to see this fall ankle boot trend in action on some of our favorite street style stars, spot them on the runway, and shop some of our favorite versions.
