Who are your favorite designers?
These might be obvious answers but Hussein Chalayan, Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, and Marc Jacobs are designers that consistently interest me.
What are your favorite hometown stores?
My favorite clothing stores to shop at are True Value Vintage, Goon Pack, One of A Few, The Block and Used (which also has an amazing selection of vintage jewelry).
Who are your personal style icons?
Anna Karina, Patti Smith and Mary Kate Olsen.
What are your favorite new trends for fall?
I love that grey is so popular for fall and also all the lovely knits.
What trend are you totally over?
WEDGES! I never liked them in the first place. I think they look tacky.
Do you have any beauty tips?
I LOVE Kiehl's! I use only their products on my face. I would never use anything else. I also never wear foundation. I like a fresh clean look, so I wear minimal makeup.
Right now, every girl needs a ... ?
Great pair of boots. I usually stick to flat, suede boots and think a vintage pair would be ideal. They┬'re just more attractive to me than new ones.
Where are your favorite places to go out?
Hoko's for karaoke. The Railway Club is the best old bar in the city, it┬'s a great venue and place to hang out, plus it still has a smoking room. The Royal Unicorn in Chinatown is a good dance party on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Also, Shine on Mondays has a 50's sockhop night. I love eating out and I love wine. Salt, Chambar, Lolita's, Habit, Parkside, Capone┬'s, and Cassis are my favorites in Vancouver. I go to a lot of movies and wander aimlessly around the city.
What┬'s on your iPod right now?
Sonic Youth, Black Mountain, The Modern Lovers, Ratatat, Will Oldham, The Make-Up, Neil Young, The Ponys, Television, and LCD Soundsystem.
What are your essential monthly magazines?
Hobo, I-D, Gourmet, Film Comment, Uncut
What piece in your wardrobe/jewelry box do you wear the most?
My boyfriend recently bought me this simple yet stunning silver ring from Tiffany. I wear it every day.
If you could raid anyone's closet, who would it be and why?
Lou Doillon, for sure. I think her style is so perfect.
Where do you go to stock up on great, inexpensive items?
The West End Community Centre has a monthly flea market that is the best for unique, cheap jewelry┬--I love it! (604.257.8333, 870 Denman Street)
If you had $1000 to blow on one item for fall what would it be?
Probably the Marc by Marc Jacobs Delancey Bag in Bordeaux ($698, eLuxury.com)
What item of your wardrobe do you rely on during the fall?
Scarves! I am obsessed with long ones, preferably in a solid color. The Balenciaga scarves this fall are totally up my alley too. [We like Free People┬'s Tie Die Scarf! ($38, freepeople.com)]
