People make interesting fashion choices at Coachella--feathered headdresses, electrical tape bras, and glow-in-the-dark jumpsuits are all de rigueur--but you don’t need to pack super look-at-me-now pieces to stand out in the crowd. So what’s the right thing to wear while checking out The Postal Service, the xx, and more? This year we’re taking cues from the Band of Outsiders S/S 13 show, particularly the collection’s bohemian-inspired macramé tops, multicolored bandeaus, and ombre skirts, which feel right for the occasion. With those references in mind, we curated a selection of must-try festival items, from a bright laser-cut tee to wear-with-anything woven sandals, all of which are sure to be a hit!

1. Tory Burch Mia Frayed Short Shorts ($165)
Cutoffs are a music festival staple, so be sure to pick up Tory Burch’s on-point tie-dye shorts before you leave. We’d wear them with a tucked-in tank and woven fedora.

2. Illesteva Murdoch II Matte Black with Blue Mirrored Lenses ($230)
As seasoned veterans of the music festival scene, we can tell you the perfect finishing touch for any look is a pair of cool shades. We can’t get enough of the season’s colorful lenses and think these blue mirrored sunnies from eyewear favorite Illesteva fit the bill perfectly.

3. Victoria’s Secret Beach Sexy Zigzag Bandeau Top ($29) and Low-Rise Bottom ($23)
When you’re not rocking out to your favorite bands, you might want to catch some rays poolside. This bikini from Victoria’s Secret will earn you major style points.

4. K-Way Noel Klassic Pullover ($54)
Evening sets can get chilly and you never know when it might rain unexpectedly, which is why a lightweight pullover that can easily be thrown over your t-shirt or dress is a necessity.

5. Julep Neon Creme Nail Color ($14) in Ally
Don’t forget your manicure! Brighter is always better in these instances, so grab Julep’s nail color in Ally. The electric blue lacquer will add an extra splash of color to all your festival looks.

6. Elkin Lisa Dress ($235)
When the sun is scorching, dresses made from breathable fabrics are a plus. That’s why we love this little cream number from Elkin. The mesh-net insert will keep you feeling cool and comfortable all day.

7. Title Unknown Laser Cut Muscle Tee ($39) in Blush
Coachella is the perfect time to test-drive some of spring’s biggest trends, like this bright laser-cut tee, which shows off just the right amount of skin. Complement its cheerful hue with some colorful friendship bracelets.

8. Loeffler Randall Raffia Lolly Sandals ($295)
Since the Coachella grounds are primarily dirt and grass, you’ll want to ditch the sky-high stilettos and flip-flops for a pair of open-toed sandals. We’re partial to this woven style from Loeffler Randall because they’re light and airy, the neutral hues will go with everything you pack, and they have a comfortable low heel.

9. H&M Leather Shoulder Bag ($70)
When it comes to your handbag, steer clear of anything fussy or oversized. A small, hands-free carrier, like this bright yellow one from H&M, won’t get in the way while you’re dancing and it’s all you need to store your phone, wallet, and sunscreen.

After you pack your bags with these festival essentials, be sure to check out our official Coachella style ambassador--Chriselle of The Chriselle Factor--and all of her sartorial adventures in the desert by following her, Juicy Couture, and Who What Wear on Instagram with hashtag #juicychella13.
