The 5 Street Style Trends Everyone Is Clamoring For

If you spotted the same handful of street style trends over and over again during fashion month, you're not imagining it. According to new data from Lyst, there are five trends in particular that have risen to the top of everyone's wish lists this season: pink, velvet, backless loafers, J.W.Anderson's Pierce Bag ($1365), and step-hemmed jeans.

So how did Lyst come up these findings? The site sourced data from 12,000 online retailers and looked at month-over-month comparisons in both searches and sales. "The analytics team at Lyst monitored real-time search and sales figures globally, looking for spikes in consumer interest," the site explained. "The results prove that fashion week street style is king when it comes to driving sales." For instance, searches for Pierce bags rose 300% during fashion month, which resulted in 76% increase in sales. The next most popular trend was step-hemmed jeans, which saw a 140% increase in searches and a 15% increase in sales.

Senior News Editor

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
