We're a little over a week into the New Year, but the shopping data from 2017 is still rolling in. Most recently, eBay released its "Top Shopped" report, which "takes an exclusive look at 2017 sales from the marketplace" and details "the moments and movements that mattered most."

The report revealed several interesting shopping trends, including the popularity of Star Wars merchandise as well as the fact that a new hue— Gen-Z yellow—has taken Millennial Pink's spot as the It color of 2018. But there was one piece of data, in particular, that we were especially fond of, seeing as we're quite the fans of practical and comfortable footwear.

According to the report, the "throwback street" trend reached an all-time high, with the classic Adidas Superstar earning the top spot as the most popular sneaker of 2017. Data revealed that 107,000 pairs of Adidas Superstars were purchased last year, beating out the Reebok Classic (28,000 pairs were bought) as well as the Nike Cortez (24,000 pairs were sold).

Frankly, it's not hard to see why this sneaker style earned the top spot. The Adidas Superstar is a timeless pick and perfectly merges classic style with retro appeal. We'll take one in every color, please.
