Spring ad campaigns are just about to launch, so it seemed particularly appropriate to introduce a face that'll soon be all over the place¬--Julia Stegner. The gorgeous German giantess (she¬'s nearly six feet tall!) is working with two prestigious brands this season and slowly but surely positioning herself as a chameleon extraordinaire.
Stegner's vast appeal has been obvious from the start. She's consistently walked for a wide range of fashion houses, just in Spring/Summer 08 she appeared in shows for Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta (which she opened), and Zac Posen (which she closed). High fashion aside, she's also captivated the powers that be at Victoria's Secret and strutted down their sparkly runway for two years in a row. Now, Stegner's got the mass beauty market covered (she recently joined the Maybelline New York team, look for ads this month) and is taking over Sienna Miller¬'s spot as the face of Tod¬'s this season too.
Accolades aside, we've awarded Stegner the Model of the Moment title in part due to her spot-on personal style. For example, we're crazy about the little leather jacket she wore with a gray tee, black shorts, and slouchy boots to an Alexander Wang after party (above, far left). She dressed up a casual striped dress with a shrunken blazer and a hip-slung belt for a Prada party and looked effortlessly sleek in monochromatic chocolate at a Calvin Klein event (above, second from right). We also love the simplicity of what Stegner wore to the grand opening of the Edon Manor boutique in Tribeca. Stegner tucked her silky, collared, white blouse into a high-waisted black bandage skirt and added opaques, heels, and a clutch for a devastating effect.
