The fashion week runway can be a bit of a tease when the pieces we see on a model today are not actually available until months down the line. But Michael Kors’s runway combatted that dilemma in two ways: first by offering a selection of pieces immediately available on its site (like so many other see-now, buy-now brands of late) and second by inspiring a style trick that’s possible to replicate pronto.
The piece promoting the idea was Kors’s cashmere/mohair sleeve scarf, which was styled within several of his runway looks. While technically a winter accessory, the piece looked much more like a classic knit pullover, wrapped snuggly around the neck and allowing for the (faux) sleeves to drape across the front of the body. Think of it as the next iteration of the preppy cardigan-tied-around-your-shoulders move. And, in essence, it could be just as easy to wear right now. After all, since it’s a scarf that looks like a sweater, the look can be achieved if you repurpose the sweater as a scarf. Consider it a little styling challenge until the complete Michael Kors collection becomes available in a few months.
>Until then, check out examples of the scarf/sweater hybrid below.
