The Surprising Factor That’ll Catapult the Met Gala to a Mass Audience
It's happening: Fashion's biggest night is getting the E! treatment. The Met Gala—aka the topic of the documentary The First Monday in May, which debuted during TriBeCa Film Festival's opening night—not only has Taylor Swift as its co-chair, but its red carpet arrivals will be televised for the first time ever. From pre-show coverage to red carpet interviews, E! News will be live on the scene to give us a glimpse into what is basically the equivalent of the Academy Awards in the fashion industry.
Catt Sadler and Zuri Hall will report live from the chicest red carpet on Fifth Avenue while Giuliana Rancic, Marie Claire's Zanna Roberts Rassi, Olivia Culpo, and Johnny Wujek will break down each look from an NYC studio. The network's coverage will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 2. We're expecting some major fashion moments (we're looking at you Taylor Swift) and lots of tech accessories, and we're keeping our fingers crossed for appearances from some first timers like Bella Hadid or Kylie Jenner.
Tune in to E! on Monday for all the action, and shop The Met's Costume Institute gift shop right here.
