Mary-Kate and Ashley Say They Owe Their Fashion Success to This

Secret to success: Vogue profiled 15 of fashion’s most important female designers, and the Olsens nabbed a coveted spot on the list. When the duo sat down with the magazine to talk about their fashion empire, they credited The Row’s success to one simple word. “Continuity,” Mary-Kate told Vogue. “We are a trustworthy brand that really sells exactly what we say we’re selling.” Ashley then chimed in and explained who they keep in mind when they’re designing: “The only people we feel we need to answer to are our clients,” she said. Big win: Congratulations are in order: Burberry won the British Brand of the Year award at last night’s Elle Style Awards. CEO and Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey was on hand to accept the award from actress Anya Taylor-Joy. Shop Burberry online to get in on the action.

Dynamic duo: WWD caught up with Blake Lively at a L’Oréal Paris party, where she confessed that Michael Kors is the reason she’s involved with the fashion industry at all. “I owe Michael everything in the fashion world,” Lively told the site. “I had just started [Gossip Girl], and no one knew or cared [about it] at that point, and he brought me to a Vogue event. … I wouldn’t be in this if it weren’t for him." Thank you, Kors!

Cute collab: An everyday staple just got a stylish upgrade: Lilly Pulitzer has teamed up with Starbucks and S’well on limited-edition reusable water bottles featuring the fashion brand’s hand-painted prints in cheery colors. Mark your calendars: They will be available in Starbucks locations beginning tomorrow.
