Marilyn Monroe's Favorite Jewelry Brand Is Making a Comeback

Erin Fitzpatrick

Marilyn-approved: Never heard of jewelry brand Black, Starr & Frost? Well, it's time to get acquainted. As the Wall Street Journal reports, the 200-year-old brand is poised to make comeback with current owner Alfredo J. Molina at the helm, who says he hopes to restore the brand to its glory days. What did those days look like, exactly? For starters, Marilyn Monroe name-checked the brand in her "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" song, along with Cartier and Tiffany's. Plus, WSJ says Abraham Lincoln's wife Mary Todd once spent $64,000 on jewels from the brand. You'd be wise to keep your eye on Black, Starr & Frost's resurgence.
