A Sneak Peek at London's Major New Chanel Exhibit

Jessica Schiffer

A new exhibit titled “Mademoiselle Privé” at London’s Saatchi gallery invites viewers into the creative process behind all things Chanel—be it the brand’s jewelry, clothing or famous No. 5 perfume. “It’s about what’s happening behind-the-scenes, how Karl Lagerfeld is working with the patrimony of Mademoiselle Chanel,” the house’s president of fashion, Bruno Pavlovsky, explained to WWD. Complete with one-off couture creations, new editions of Chanel’s beloved 1932 Bijoux de Diamants jewelry collection, an installation involving both LED signs and scent experiences, and original photographs by Lagerfeld himself, the exhibit is certainly not your average. And, rounding out the experience, visitors can download a special app that will provide further background (in the form of quotes and pictures) on everything they’re seeing before them. If that’s not enough to convince you of a trip to London before November 1st, when the exhibit closes, the below images will surely do the trick.

Head to WWD to learn more and scroll down to see the first images of the new exhibit.
