Twiggy Lashes

Ginnifer Goodwin never fails to impress on the red carpet. And though the Once Upon A Time star wore a darling pink Oscar de la Renta dress to the American Music Awards, it was her retro eyelashes that charmed us. "We wanted to do something fun with her makeup because it was the AMAs and musicians usually have funky makeup," Mai Quynh, Goodwin's makeup artist, says.So Quynh took a strip of false lashes--though you could use Make Up For Ever's Individual Lashes ($16)--and cut them up into eight pieces. "I applied five of the pieces to her bottom lash line with glue and tweezers," she said, evenly spacing them out along the line. They were already clumped together, so she just used mascara on the top lashes to balance out the weight. As for ensuring that the look ends up more retro-cool than costume-y, Quynh advises, "Pair with pale lips and neutral skin, and try leaving your hair soft and not overly done." Of course, if you can pull off a pixie like Goodwin, Twiggy lashes will be a breeze.
