Fall Accessories
Monday, July, 30, 2012 Once upon a time, we thought about pencils, backpacks, and notebooks come August, but now our minds have turned to far a more stylish subject: fall fashion must-haves! The thought of wearing that woolly Celine coat or Proenza Schouler side-zip leather jacket makes us shiver with bittersweet excitement, since the reality is we have a few months left until the weather--and our savings accounts--cooperate. That doesn't mean we can't pregame with the upcoming season's best accessories, like a standout ankle boot or statement-making bag. We picked out a few drool-worthy designer items that reference fall's biggest trends. These investment pieces are surely a splurge, but hey, a girl can dream, right?1. Yves Saint Laurent Lily Ring ($515, available in September)
Floral motifs come around every season, but the big news with this trend for fall is Yves Saint Laurent's organic, gilded lily shape. Exotic and sultry, it's the only jewelry you'll need when accessorizing a deep-v, double-breasted velvet blazer and wide-leg trousers.

2. Derek Lam ID Necklace ($2235, 212.299.1338)
Two of fall's hottest jewelry trends (chokers and silver metal) come together in Derek Lam's necklace. The designer teamed up with jeweler Thomas Bliven to create this chain-link ID choker with uptown punk attitude.

3. Givenchy Pearl & Jet Strass Magnetic Tusk Earring ($535)
Tribal-inspired jewelry was everywhere this season, and Givenchy's tough-as-nails version exudes sophisticated safari. Pull your hair back into a messy chignon for the crystal-encrusted tusk to stand out. You don't even need pierced ears for this bauble; it stays in place with a magnet!

4. Emilio Pucci Wool-Felt Fedora ($390)
From the furry Dr. Seuss-like toppers at Marc Jacobs to the military-style headpieces at Prabal Gurung, hats made a big statement this season. Our styling tip? Wear Emilio Pucci's hunter green fedora with a linen blazer and high-waisted wide-leg jeans to channel a '70s vibe a la Jane Birkin.

5. Burberry Leather-Trimmed Suede Bowling Bag ($1995)
Fall's new bag? The bowler! These chic carriers have a structured shape that's a little more serious and ladylike for the season than summer's slouchy purses. Burberry's suede rendition comes in a mix of rich rust and brown hues, which matches an autumnal color palette but also works with summer's off-whites and oxford blues for a polished work ensemble.

6. Gucci Fall Runway GG3206 Sunglasses ($265, 212.717.2619) in Black
Allow us to introduce you to fall's new sunglasses silhouette: round and vintage-inspired, like a turn-of-the-century chemist. Gucci's circular black frames are sleek, utterly charming, and add a cool factor to any outfit.

7. 3.1 Phillip Lim Delia Chelsea Boots ($625, 212.334.1160) in Yellow Gold
When it's time to swap out your gladiator sandals for cozier footwear, you'll want a great pair of boots, like this pointy-toe style from 3.1 Phillip Lim. Wear them now with a silk tank and lace-trimmed shorts, then add a chunky knit sweater and opaque tights come fall.

8. Tory Burch Afton Silk Print Scarf ($225, 310.248.2612) in Pretty Violet Multi
No fall wish list would be complete with a scarf! Toss on Tory Burch's vibrant floral scarf with a printed dress, blazer, and boots for a stylish on-the-go look.--Tiffany Tse
