We've been covering Rebecca Minkoff's handbag line practically since its inception-she created the beloved Morning After bag in 2005, we started WhoWhatWear.com less than a year later-and know that you're probably deeply familiar with its many celebrity-adored styles. While the bags are fabulous and only continue to get better, today we'd like to shift the spotlight to a different aspect of Minkoff's company, specifically her F/W 11 ready-to-wear collection. Comprised of the designer's smartly executed take on must-have pieces, ranging from a luxuriously edgy biker jacket to feminine-yet-cool print maxi skirts, the well-priced line is truly noteworthy. Inspired by Charlotte Kemp Muhl-who also performed at the F/W 11 show alongside Sean Lennon-the collection has a rich palette (think: blood red, jewel-tone floral prints, camel) that's perfect for Minkoff's "downtown romantic" clientele. We're selected a few of our favorite pieces for today's Line We Love, but be sure to check out the entire assortment, as well as this sweet behind-the-scenes video about Minkoff showing this collection at Lincoln Center (it was her first big runway show!).
Isabelli Belted Wrap Dress ($398) in Liberty Print
As ladies who love a wrap dress, it should come as no surprise that we're crazy about Minkoff's bold take on the timeless wardrobe staple. Not only are we mad about the wild Liberty print and mix of earthy green hues, but we also adore the frock's silky fabric, which makes the frock a luxurious option that can transition from day to night with ease. "It's a great work outfit," Minkoff says. "It's sophisticated enough for the office but playful enough for after hours."
Moon Boots ($375, 212.705.2000) in Black
Still searching for that perfect pair of boots to complete your fall wardrobe? Then you'll be delighted to know your search finally stops here! Thanks to a sleek silhouette and mix of leather and suede, these boots are a sophisticated choice that will go with just about everything in your closet, from a pair of slim jeans to a pencil skirt. Trust us, this is one pair of boots you definitely want to have on hand this season, so be sure to place your pre-order at Bloomingdales pronto!
Jessica Jeans ($228) in Wine
If you're looking for a subtle way to try fall's colored snakeskin trend, then you definitely don't want to miss Minkoff's Jessica Jeans. With python leather panels on the legs, these slim, wine-colored pants are a sure way to make a statement this season. "The Jessica Jean is a great day-to-night pant," Minkoff says. "It can be worn with casual boots and a comfy sweater during the day and played up with heels and a dressy top for the night time." If you're anything like us, you won't be able to resist these show-stopping jeans, so be sure to pre-order a pair now before it's too late!
Vena Skirt ($325, 323.882.8464) in Inkblot
In our opinion, you can never have enough maxi skirts in your closet, which leads us to our next obsession-worthy Minkoff piece: the Vena Skirt. This chic silk skirt already has a place in our wardrobe, thanks in large part to its attention-grabbing abstract print. If you love the simple silhouette but would prefer a subtler print, there's also a gray-and-white iteration-the Stingray Vena Skirt ($328)-that's exclusively available on Minkoff's site!
Goddess Platform Sandals ($275) in Electric Blue
Is there anything more fabulous than a blue suede shoe? We think not, which is why the Goddess Platforms are currently at the top of our must-buy-for-fall list. The sleek open-toe silhouette and thick ankle strap have a slightly '90s-vibe we love, plus, the gorgeous blue hue will surely complement many of fall's rich colors. (They're also available in Eggplant, FYI.) Elvis Presley would definitely approve...
Abbey Leather Sleeve Biker Jacket with Fox Fur ($998, 323.882.8464)
Our absolute favorite piece from the F/W 11 collection has to be the Abbey Biker Jacket. We love the mix of textures, especially the contrasting leather sleeves, which is a look we can't get enough of right now. Whether you choose to wear it with a slip dress or go for a tough-luxe look by pairing it with slim black jeans, we guarantee you won't want to take this jacket off, making it an investment-worthy item indeed.
Proposal Purse ($295) in Blood Red
A petite carrier is a must-have for any stylish girl on the go, which is why the Proposal Purse is an essential accessory right now. One of Minkoff's personal favorites for fall, the bag features an elegant mix of red and gold tones, and we can't resist its adorable zebra head ornaments, which were inspired by a vintage pin the designer found in Europe. Red's not your thing? No worries: it also comes in basic black!-with Johnni Macke
