Maje

Maje
Striking the perfect balance between Carine Roitfeld's sophisticated soignée and Julia Restoin Roitfeld's sartorial joie de vivre, the French line Maje is comprised of super-chic staples that are sure to leave you enchante. The label's coolly understated pieces look just as high-end as those hailing from other famed French maisons, yet they come with a (slightly) more digestible price point. No wonder Maje has been featured repeatedly in the mesmerizing editorials of such marvelous magazines like French Vogue, Grazia, and Jalouse since the line's infancy! Launched by the Moroccan-born and Parisian-based Judith Milgrom in 2000, Maje was created with the intention to address day-to-night dressing needs and rediscover the frock as an everyday piece. While this still holds trueÂ--thanks to their mix-and-match spirit, these luxurious items are notably accessibleÂ--the collections have evolved with the times and gone from overtly girly to completely cosmopolitan. But though the line stays current, Milgrom's stunning pieces retain their innately feminine poise through the occasional flounce, like a waterfall hem, silk-satin trim, or whimsical feathery finish.

Due to the refined nature of Milgrom's must-have designs, we were not surprised when stylesetter Vanessa Traina was picked as the naturally elegant face of their F/W 10 campaign. Routinely appearing in the front row at major fashion shows and numerous other A-list cognoscenti-attended events, the international style icon is known for her impeccable taste level that strikes the perfect note between timeless and cutting-edge. Additionally, the T Magazine Fashion Editor has a knack for highlighting on-the-cusp designers, rendering the chic union between Maje and Traina even more stylishly organic.

While the entire collection is filled with cornerstone pieces from which to build a winter wardrobeÂ--think carefully tailored tops and slacks, investment worthy coats, and sleekly-sculpted leathers, peppered with splashes of metallics, leopard-print, and furÂ--today we present you with the pieces that truly made us swoon! With a nod toward some of fall's most noteworthy trends, but still maintaining an unfussy simplicity reminiscent of Traina's lauded personal style, these lovely selects make up what we can only deem to be the most current Line We Love. We hope that you enjoy them as much as we do!

Aparte Wool-Jersey and Silk-Satin Dress ($265)
With a nod to the season's military trend and produced in one of our favorite new neutral tones, this olive green dress is a must-have piece. The silk-satin trim upgrades the jersey frock and offers it a lovely feminine touch. We'd pair it with a shearling jacket and black lace-up booties for a look that's oh-so cold-weather chic.

Corinne Leopard-Print Leather Bag ($229)
If there's one thing any of us have learned so far this season, it's that 2010 is the fall of the leopard-print accents! Accordingly, since we've become dedicated connoisseurs of these big-cat patterns, we selected Maje's spirited chain-strap purse to showcase today. The oversized leopard print and leather trim gives it an insouciant, youthful vibe while the long strap adds a directional and polished touch. Wear it with an LBD or use it to accent your red leather leggings for a sizzling Girls' Night Out look.

Botox Wool and Leather Cardigan ($500)
This wool and leather cardigan represents everything we admire about the Paris-based label's designs. The waterfall drape upgrades the sweater's classic shape, while the leather sleeves add a unique and edgy twist. Wear it with a slicked-back bun and metallic skirt for a texturally intriguing work outfit.

Aquarelle A-Line Wool Skirt ($192)
A-line mini skirts are a mainstay of Maje's fall collection, and we find this cozy wool version is an ideal day-to-night piece. The camel hue and leather detailing elevate this closet staple and the use of mixed materials lends itself nicely to the season's minimalist looks. Play up this skirt's inherent school-girl appeal and pair it with tights, scrunched socks, and lace-up booties to create an outfit we could easily see on Leighton Meester.

Caid Shearling Low Boots ($464)
One of the things we appreciate about Milgrom's pieces is how they salute current trends without being overly faddish. Take, for example, these super cozy wedge ankle boots. They speak to both the au courant utilitarian influence and call for shearling details, yet still remain subtle and stylishly pared down. Accordingly, we'd wear them with a pleated skirt and tights for a day of running errands or pair them with a skinny trouser pant and coordinating blazer for an unexpectedly directional workday look.

Bareme Lurex Knit Top ($274)
This sweater-top just screamsÂ--or rather, demurely presents itself asÂ--European fashion editor. The conservative cut is right on trend with fall's ladylike looks, while the thick, metallic knit still reads as festive and intriguing. We could easily see Paris Vogue's Carine Roitfeld pairing it with a knee-length leather skirt and of-the-moment shoes for a show-stopping front-row ensemble.

Cherbourg Fur Mittens ($206)
Here at Who What Wear, we're suckers for a kitschy accessory and these adorable mittens most definitely fit the bill! Not only are they actually functional, keeping your mitts nice and toasty, but they add a touch of luxe with their festive mix of leather and fur. Wear them when out and about with your essential camel coat for chic snow-day attire!

Amiral Zipped Leather Leggings ($821)
Crimson has definitely taken the fashion world by storm, and red leather pants are one of our favorite ways to wear this vermilion hue. Style this super-skinny pair with a leopard coat and bow-bedecked kitten heels for an Isabel Marant-inspired runway look.Â--Liza Kaplan
