This Levi's Jacket Will Give You Directions, Read You Your Texts
The jean jacket—the perfect stylish go-to for when the temperatures drop—just got a major upgrade. The ultimate wardrobe staple will now make every part of your technology-driven life a tad bit easier, especially if you're always on the road—just hear us out.
Popular denim brand Levi's has partnered up with Google on a first-of-its-kind smart garment, the Levi's Commuter Jacket with Jacquard by Google technology woven in. If you're still a bit confused by this concept of a "smart garment," let us explain a bit more.
The jacket connects to your smartphone, allowing you to easily control music, navigation, and text and phone communication—yes, you can even have messages read to you—with a few simple, customizable gestures. As the press release explains, "With Jacquard woven in, the jacket has an interactive sleeve on the left cuff that allows the wearer to tap into his or her iOS or Android device without taking the eyes off the road."
The brand added in the press release, "The jacket features the Levi’s Commuter Trucker’s signature performance details, including retro reflective accents, stretch fabric paneling at the shoulders, back ventilation, a dropped hem for extra coverage, and storm cuffs for wind and weather protection."
The smart garment will be available for purchase at selected retailers starting September 27, and its official online release will follow on October 2. Fashion just got a whole lot smarter.
