These Vogue Veterans Launched the Most Genius Startup

Nicole Kliest

Of all the prints in a woman’s wardrobe, we’d vouch for stripes being among the most universally timeless and appealing. Today three industry veterans launch La Ligne, which explores the classic graphic of the line. All of the pieces (and trust us, there are so many good ones to choose from) feature a line in some iteration or another, whether it’s a classic bateau top or a jumpsuit with subtle contrast piping, there's something for everyone. The founders—Meredith Melling, Molly Howard, and Valerie Boster—are names you’ve likely heard around the block. Melling and Boster both spent time at Vogue prior to founding their own creative agency called La Marque. Howard comes from the business development side at Rag & Bone.

The direct-to-consumer collection is split into halves—essentials and edition. The idea behind this is to consistently offer everyday lined necessities in a versatile color palette, while seasonally allowing customers to indulge in however the designers are reimagining the pattern for the season. Basically, if you like stripes and chic clothing made from the highest quality fabrics, you now have a one-stop shop. Scroll down to see some of what La Ligne is currently offering, and tell us what you'll be buying from the collection in the comments.
