The New Brand That's Already Making Waves With Fashion Insiders

Even though it’s only August, it’s never too early to start planning ahead for fall and winter’s chilly temps—they will come sooner than you think! If you’re looking to add to your coat collection, why not take Eva Chen and Emily Weiss’s lead and opt for an investment piece from the newly launched brand Koja?

Both ladies have been spotted in coats from the New York–based brand, which was founded by a mother-daughter team from Kazakhstan. “Getting support from [Chen and Weiss] makes me incredibly proud and confident,” the brand’s co-founder Diana Zwetzich told Who What Wear. “They are visionaries in the business and wouldn’t wear just anything—I hustled to get on their radar. Having them wear our coats is the ultimate seal of approval in today’s market.”

Zwetzich went on to tell us about why she made the brave leap from Kazakhstan to New York City. “It was all about opportunity,” she told us. “I lived in Kazakhstan until I was 11. Then I moved with my whole family to Germany. After high school, I began to think of greater possibilities, and New York just seemed like the best possible place to pursue my ambitions. New York to me is this giant platform where if you are hungry enough, you could potentially achieve anything.” With Chen and Weiss in her court—and no doubt many more supporters to come—you can bet that Koja will indeed go on to achieve plenty of success in the industry.
