Not unlike most women in the modeling industry or anywhere remotely in the public eye, Kate Upton has been under her fair share of scrutiny for her weight and size. The model, who is known for her curvaceous frame, spoke up to Elle UK for her September cover story about her body and how she felt when her modeling agency, at one time, asked her to drop five pounds. Her response might surprise you.
"Agents have put me under pressure to lose weight in the past," Upton told the magazine. "I would go on set and clients loved me, and then I would go into an agency and feel like crap about myself. They would say: ‘Just lose five more [pounds]!’ But I couldn’t give a crap. And I still don’t."
The model also confessed that, like any woman, she battles her own insecurity issues. "It’s not like I look in the mirror and think, ‘I’m killing it.' No, a lot of times I’m puffy and bloated. I like myself in general, but there are days when you just don’t."
Amen! In our opinion, Upton need not answer to anyone when it comes to her weight, size, or general appearance. She has landed every magazine cover from Elle to Sports Illustrated to Vogue, appearing on each multiple times. She may not think so, but she really is killing it.
