Jennifer Hudson’s Red Carpet Look Took 1000 Hours to Make
Jennifer Hudson's Dreamgirls co-star Beyoncé may have taken home the Fashion Icon award at the CFDA Awards, but the singer made a fashion statement of her own. Wearing a custom off-the-shoulder KaufmanFranco design, Hudson had all eyes on her during her Prince tribute.
According to Refinery29, the custom Swarovski crystal-encrusted jumpsuit took over 1000 hours and nearly two million stones to create. From Austria and Korea to the U.S. and Germany, each of the 1,692,000 Swarovski crystals was hand-applied by a team of 13 from all over the globe. To put things in perspective, People points out that the famous Adam Selman gown Rihanna wore to the 2014 CFDA Awards had about one-eighth the amount of Swarovski crystals Hudson's cape-sleeved jumpsuit utilized. Now that is a lot of embellishment!
