This Couture Dress Is Made Entirely of Glass Bubbles

Erin Fitzpatrick

Iris van Herpen is known for her architectural, technologically innovative designs, and her latest collection is no exception. For her F/W 16 couture presentation, the Dutch designer presented a stunning assortment of out-of-this-world looks, including one dress made of glass spheres.

According to Elle, van Herpen used hand-blown glass bubbles and silicon in the design of the dress. A close-up shows hundreds of light-reflecting spheres, which give the dress a gorgeous, ethereal vibe. We can only imagine how painstaking it was to create this one-of-a-kind stunner.
