Summer brings a variety of things: warm weather, beach days, vacations, and, of course, wedding season. If you’re one of those people who has a stack of different save-the-dates, you’re probably starting to feel a little overwhelmed. Before you can prep anything, you need to figure out the dress code. “What helps me is thinking about the setting. Is it more of a casual outdoor affair, or is it taking place at a formal banquet hall? It’s easier for me to edit my options from there,” says Fleur.
The great thing about being a wedding guest is that you don't have the early call times that the bridal party does, so there's no harm in you indulging the day of. “My husband and I like having a leisurely morning; brunch in bed is definitely included,” Fleur says.
“It might seem obvious, but planning out your outfits in advance makes things so much less stressful,” explains Fleur. When in doubt, stick to a look that's romantic, like a powder pink ruffle skirt and top combo.
At the end of the day, you should enjoy yourself while at any wedding, both mentally and physically. Stick to a look you're comfortable in, so you're not distracted by having to adjust anything throughout the event. “I prefer wearing my hair down,” says Fleur. “There are only a few occasions where I’ll wear an updo.” Her signature? Voluminous, softly sculpted waves made possible with TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray, a curling wand, and TRES Two Extra Hold Hairspray. Her husband on the other hand, is more of an AXE Clean Cut Look Classic Pomade sort of guy.
“My husband and I have learned the importance of fighting the urge to get stressed out; we make sure to keep things as fun and relaxed as possible,” says Fleur. If that means throwing on your husband's suit jacket, shirt, and tie and having a dance party on your bed, so be it.
