How do I pick the right jeans for my body?

How do I pick the right jeans for my body?

While there are few rules when it comes to denim—and we encourage you to dabble in and don a variety of styles and trends—it's also important to know what is best for your body type. Here are a few tips and tricks of the trade!

Curvy
If you are curvy, invest in dark hues—sans extreme washes or seaming—that will properly celebrate your femininity without looking fussy. In terms of a fit, a boot cut or slim flare will create a nice overall balance to your body.

Petite
We suggest that petite ladies embrace a cropped skinny that hits at the ankle (hello, tailor!) or a long bell-bottom that can hang over your shoe and create the illusion of length.

Boyish
Boyish-bodied gals should try jeans with seams and stitching to add the look of curves. Also, try rocking a high-waisted skinny that undoubtedly gives shape to almost any body type.

Athletic
If you are on the sporty side, perhaps soften your shape with a boyfriend-type jean (think: a little baggy and with rolled cuffs) or a slouchy skinny that sits comfortably loose on your hips and legs without hiding your prowess.

Tall
Tall gals can really wear the good old skinny in all of its long glory. On the flip side, leggy ladies can also easily wear a wide leg without being overwhelmed with its bigger-on-bottom proportions.
