But those aren't the only items on my must-have list: perish the thought! I'm currently crazy about all of the white leather pieces on the market right now-especially the peplum jacket and pencil skirt combo from Cushnie et Ochs. The silhouette is ladylike but the fact that it's made out of white leather gives it a smidge of subversive edge, which is so up my alley. Vibrant prints are also on my shopping list, including everything from festive florals to gorgeous graphics a la Carven. Accessory-wise, I'm all about the new sunny yellow leather version of Bulgari's beloved Serpenti bag. It's the ideal investment piece to perk up my staples, plus it's just so fresh and fun. In addition to my splurges, I've also thrown some thrifty thrills into the mix, like the most darling retro-chic pair of polka dot sunglasses and my makeup obsession du jour: Maybelline's new super skinny felt-tip eyeliner pen. But enough with my explanations! Please check out all of my picks and who knows, maybe you'll find something to sing about too...
3.1 Phillip Lim Leather Skirt ($750)
Leather skirts are a staple in my wardrobe, and right now I'm craving this minimalist version in white. It's really clean and understated, which makes it the perfect piece to style with all of my patterned blouses and shells. Though it's not quite as pale, I'm also rather fond of Gap's Leather Mini Skirt ($199), which comes in a honey hue that also works nicely for spring.
H&M Floral Top ($19.95)
There are so many amazing floral prints this season-Jason Wu and Erdem are highlights for me-but you don't have to shell out a fortune to get the look. Case in point: this pretty posy-print blouse from H&M!
ASOS Polka Dot Cat Eye Sunglasses ($22)
I am unquestionably a retrophile, so naturally I swooned for these cute polka dot shades. They'll add a little quirkiness to my spring and summer outfits, plus they'll look so darling at Coachella.
Bulgari Serpenti Shoulder Bag ($1700) in Yellow Leather
This is the most amazing bag I've seen in ages and it works on every level. The bright yellow hue is astonishingly versatile and the snake-head closure-it's turquoise and amethyst-is like a little piece of jewelry. Best of all, it's cool in a really timeless way, so you could literally wear it for decades to come and still look chic.
Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner ($8)
Whether they're major tiger eyes or a subtler iteration, cat-eye liner is here to stay. That's why my favorite new beauty product is this ultra-fine eyeliner from Maybelline. It's so skinny you can really get close to the lash line and the long-wearing formula is ideal for hot summer nights!
Oscar de la Renta Cabochon Ring ($195)
When I saw Look 20 coming down the runway at Oscar de la Renta's S/S 12 show, I actually gasped. I immediately decided that chartreuse was "my" spring color and started looking for pieces to incorporate into my everyday wardrobe. As such, I was wildly excited to find this ring, which was designed by ODLR and involves my favorite hue!
Mulberry Woven Sandals ($895) in Wheat Field
Mulberry makes some of the most amazing bags in the world, but I'm also mad about their footwear, especially these insanely awesome wedges. I love how they manage to make a statement (they're so chunky and strappy), but remain understated too (the nude color is ridiculously flattering and will lengthen even my corgi-like legs). If you want to turn your look up to 11, also check out the Lemon Sherbet patent leather version, as they're equally rad.
Current/Elliott The Roller Jeans ($180) in Pale Blush
This season, my money is on pastel jeans and the denim gurus behind Current/Elliott (the darling stylists-turned-designers Emily Current and Meritt Elliott) have designed my favorite pair. I love the cigarette shape and ankle-grazing hem because they show off your shoes perfectly! Pair them with a brighter belt-like the J.Crew one shown here-for a sweet spring look.
