2015's Highest-Paid Woman in Music May Surprise You

Erin Fitzpatrick

Quick: Who do you think was the highest-paid woman in music this year? Taylor Swift perhaps? We thought so too. But according to the newest report from Forbes, the top spot belongs to none other than Katy Perry. Thanks in large part to her Prismatic World Tour, Perry raked in a whopping $135 million in 2015. Forbes says she made more than $2 million per city during the tour. Being the face of Covergirl, Claire's, and Coty didn't hurt, either.

As for the rest of the list? Swift came in at number two, earning $80 million from her album sales and 1989 tour. A surprising third-place finalist was Fleetwood Mac, with $59.5 million. (Long live the '70s!) Peek the top five below, and head over to Forbes for the entire list.

1. Katy Perry, $135 million
2. Taylor Swift, $80 million
3. Fleetwood Mac, $59.5 million
4. Lady Gaga, $59 million
5. Beyoncé, $54.5 million
