The It-Girl Way to Wear a Spring Dress Despite the Weather

Dacy Knight

Spring may be just around the corner, but for New Yorkers, it still feels like we're smack dab in the middle of winter. This couldn't be truer on Thursday night when the fashion crowd braved the ice and snow to gather in Soho to celebrate luxury eyewear brand Morgenthal Frederics' collaboration with designer Rosie Assoulin. The inaugural collection, which made its debut at Assoulin's S/S 17 presentation, is composed of two styles in six colorways and nearly sold out within days of its launch.

Though the weather outside was frightful, British DJ and model Harley Viera-Newton was not deterred, getting into the spring spirit with a lightweight floral button-down dress. The classic silhouette gave off retro vibes, and the delicate floral print kept the dress looking fresh rather than overly springy. Its navy color made it an appropriate transitional piece, one we will see more and more in the coming months.
