Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts
Wednesday, April, 18, 2012 Here at WWW, our inboxes are steadily inundated with questions about inspiring celebrity outfits, queries that are typically focused on a handful of impeccably dressed, eternally cool ladies. For as long as we can remember, the lovely and tremendously talented Emma Roberts has been one of those influential tastemakers and a reader favorite year after year. It makes complete sense: in addition to mastering her particular brand of cool--a noteworthy blend of California casual and downtown edginess, with the perfect amount of ladylike charm--the actress has repeatedly shown the fashion world she can tackle a number of au courant looks. As fans of her personal style, both on the red carpet and off duty, we were beyond excited when Roberts agreed to reveal some of her spring fashion and beauty essentials as this month's Guest Editor!

Roberts took her Guest Editor responsibilities quite seriously and met us at the WWW offices a few weeks ago to sift though racks brimming with the season's best clothing and accessories. Immediately she was drawn to '60s-inspired mod dresses, pajama shirts, petite bags, and a slew of Coachella-ready staples, naming Isabel Marant, Elizabeth and James, and Current/Elliott as a few of her go-to labels. Roberts also called out the Leather Studded Jacket ($6775, 888.721.7219), Leather Studded Bra Top ($1525, 888.721.7219), and Neoprene Shorts ($575, 888.721.7219) from Look 9 of the Versace S/S 12 collection as her favorite runway ensemble. "This outfit is one I'd like to wear somewhere tropical and fabulous," she says. Might we suggest Cannes? And while she's excited to finally introduce bright denim and lively prints into her wardrobe this spring, Roberts' fondness for the season's pastel hues--especially the way they were executed on the Louis Vuitton S/S 12 runway--was evident as well. Of course, that's just the beginning! Read on to see all of our GE's picks, and be sure to check out this fun behind-the-scenes video of Roberts talking fashion with Hillary Kerr in our studio!

Emma's Spring Picks
Sabre Nuevo Sunglasses ($85) in Black/White
You could say Roberts is a bit of a sunglasses fanatic. Right now, she steadily rotates between round Gucci frames, which remind her of being on vacation, and a tan Tom Ford style that "go with everything." And then there's her covetable Dior Cateye Sunglasses ($295)--a pair she proudly bought for herself in Paris. All of the above are year-round essentials for Roberts, but this summer the actress likes these retro two-tone sunnies from Sabre. "I love the black and white combo," Roberts says. "They would definitely be my Coachella sunglasses."

ASOS Printed Quilted Jacket ($98) in Green
Considering Roberts is a fan of both patterned blazers and quilted jackets, it came as no surprise that she chose ASOS' Printed Quilted Jacket--the perfect combination of both--as her top outerwear pick for spring. While this piece would look lovely worn with everything from a little summer dress to a leather skirt, Roberts would use it to dress up a pair of jeans. "I love the mix of prints," she says. "It's the perfect day-to-night jacket." Also check out the online retailer's Paisley Print Quilted Jacket ($54), which is a stellar, similar alternative!

Rose Gold Rings
When it comes to jewelry, Roberts often gravitates towards delicate rose gold baubles, which she says look best against her pale skin tone. "I have a Helen Ficalora rose gold necklace with a horse pendant on it that I always wear--her name is Skully and she brings me good luck," Roberts says. In addition to her good luck charm, Roberts is also a fan of Jacquie Aiche's Pyramid Stacker Ring ($750) in 14K Rose Gold and Gabriela Artigas' Single Black Diamond Ring ($240) in 14K Rose Gold and Knot Ring ($180) in 14K Rose Gold. While these dainty rings are amazing on their own, our GE prefers to stack two or three on one finger for an intriguing, layered look.

Topshop Animal Button Front Shirtdress ($92) in Tan
Your WWW editors never tire of animal prints, whether they're covering a luxe coat or emblazoned on a ladylike skirt, and clearly we're not alone. "I'm still loving leopard," Roberts says, who was immediately attracted to this darling frock from Topshop. We love how the feline pattern gives the dress' classic silhouette a fun and youthful update, and think it would look darling styled with flat sandals and a small cross-body bag for a day at the flea market.

Proenza Schouler Tiki Woven Raffia Clutch ($2090)
Large, functional bags are a must when jetting from one place to the next, but right now Roberts is all about petite carriers. "All I need is my wallet, lip gloss, and sunglasses, and I'm fine," she says. And while Miu Miu, Edie Parker, and Jerome Dreyfuss are among her favorite bag designers, nothing quite compares to her love of Proenza Schouler. She's already the proud owner of the PS1 Leather Pochette ($895) in Midnight, but this season she's got her eye on the brand's Tiki Woven Raffia Clutch, which, with its gorgeous woven design, is so on-point for spring. "I'm beyond obsessed with their different styles of bags, and this one makes me want to go on vacation," she says. We second that!

Essie Nail Polish ($8) in Orange, It's Obvious
With the exception of winged cat-eye liner--Roberts uses Neutrogena's Nourishing Eyeliner ($6) in Cosmic Black to get the look--our GE typically goes for a natural, fresh-faced beauty look. Of course, that's not to say she doesn't love a bright nail polish! Of all the amazing lacquers available right now, Roberts named Essie's Orange, It's Obvious as her shade du jour. Not only does her bold pick fall in line with Pantone's color of the year for 2012, but it's also a great way to subtly experiment with the season's vibrant palette.

Current/Elliott The Boyfriend Shorts ($150) in Pink Day Glow
Though Roberts confessed to having a mostly neutral wardrobe, this spring she plans to brighten up her closet with a few neon pieces, like these fluorescent pink cutoffs by Current/Elliott. "I have a hard time finding shorts, but Current/Elliot makes great styles," Roberts says. Whether you pair it with a feminine blouse or a black band tee like our GE would, these short shorts will immediately punch up your look.

Manolo Blahnik BB Patent Leather Point Toe Pumps ($595) in Seafoam Green
While browsing the rows upon rows of shoes in our fashion closet, Roberts called out a few favorite styles-namely anything with an ankle-strap or a chunky heel. However, there was one particular pair she loved most: Manolo Blahnik's BB Patent Leather Point Toe Pumps. "I feel very mature in pointed-toe shoes," Roberts says. "These would look chic with a pair of cropped pants." Given their bright turquoise patent leather, we'd have to say they're destined for a fun and fabulous party look too, making them a versatile, splurge-worthy item indeed! If this pair is out of your price range, consider ALDO's Fravel Pumps ($90), available in three stunning shades: cobalt blue, coral, and pink.

Tom Ford Santal Blush Eau de Parfum ($195) in 1.7 oz
It's a well-known fact that Tom Ford makes some of the best fragrances around, so it makes sense that our incredibly stylish GE is also a devoted fan. "Any Tom Ford fragrance is to die for in my opinion," Roberts says, but Santal Blush is her hands-down favorite. The scent is neither too girly nor overly masculine, thanks to a mesmerizing fusion of sandalwood, florals, and Eastern spices, so it's perfect for cool and unfussy fashion girls, like Roberts.

Rag & Bone 98 Shirt ($275)
Ask anyone in the office, and they'll tell you that owning an assortment of silky collared blouses is a must for any season--wardrobe advice that Roberts firmly believes in too! The actress showed up to her GE video shoot wearing Tucker's Slim Fit Combo Shirt ($327) after all. While skimming the racks in our studio, she fell hard for this button-up by Rag & Bone, thanks to its neon blue trim and pajama-like look.--Jessica Baker
