Gucci's Fall Show Features the House's First-Ever Transgender Model Casting

Mary Peffer

Yesterday, Gucci showed its men’s fall collection in Milan, and as reported by Elle, for the first time in the house’s history, Gucci included a transgender model in its lineup. Hari Nef, a 23-year-old model and actress from Pennsylvania, represented Gucci’s androgynous autumn collection in a head-to-toe red ensemble alongside a handful of other models. Nef is a model at IMG who broke new ground for transgender models when she appeared in an & Other Stories print campaign alongside Valentijn de Hingh last year. Gucci is Nef’s first runway casting at one of the major fashion houses in Europe, and the appearance paves the way for more in the future. Keep scrolling to see Nef own the runway in red, and check out two other outerwear moments we loved from the Gucci men’s show.
