We suspected Seydoux, simply by virtue of being a born-and-bred Parisian, would possess an innate sense of style. After all, it's no coincidence that Frenchies Alexia Niedzielski and Josephine de la Baume have served as past Girls of the Month. After spotting Seydoux at the French premiere of MI:4 last December, our initial hunch proved correct! In a short-sleeved Prada gown from Resort 12 featuring a champagne top, black skirt, and cipria-colored bow sash, accented with a green stone-encrusted clutch, the actress oozed effortless panache (bottom, left). Swept-back hair and minimal makeup perfectly complemented the sleek lines of her dress so that Seydoux's look, rather than appear girlish or cutesy, exuded timeless sophistication. Two days later at the movie's London premiere, our GOTM chose a long-sleeved black Prada number, but she cleverly tempered its severity with a messy fishtail braid and juicy, berry-stained lips (top, left).
While Seydoux's got a penchant for stunning, sleek gowns, she often channels a masculine-inspired vibe, which somehow only further serves to enhance her distinctively feminine features. For example, at a movie premiere in Paris in early January, she paired a black coat and cropped gray pants with fuss-free accessories like a fedora, bundled-up scarf, boots, and a single gold statement ring (top, right). The result is a subdued yet chic ensemble that suits her doe eyes, full pout, and fair complexion. Seydoux is undoubtedly fond of no-nonsense pieces and simple silhouettes, but thankfully for us, she also possesses a playful attitude towards fashion. At the Prada 24 Hours Museum Launch in Paris late last month, Seydoux donned Prada's Popline Top ($790) featuring a retro car pattern and Leather Skirt With Patch Detailing ($4780) embellished with a flaming car print, both from the S/S 12 collection (bottom, right). True to our ingénue's style aesthetic, she cleverly grounded her funky outfit with the label's trench and Camoscio Platform Pumps ($750) in Granto.
Naturellement, Seydoux's looks intrigued us so much that we assembled several must-have pieces worthy of this French fashion plate. Lucky for us all, even though Seydoux radiates that indescribable je ne sais quoi, her personal style is attainable with the right clothes and accessories, and we've already done the legwork for you. No need to say "merci," just marvel at these lovely picks!
Zara Fringed Wallet With Chain ($60)
Seydoux enjoys pairing sleek pieces with adventurous, embellished accents, and Zara's wallet swathed in silver chain fringe definitely fits the bill. A little rock 'n' roll and a whole lot cool, this outstanding accessory injects edgy glamour to an elegant, classic ensemble.
Topshop Curved Felt Pork Pie Hat ($50) in Aubergine
A wool hat with a rolled brim, particularly this Topshop topper in a rich purple hue, adds Seydoux-esque flair to any outfit. Mimic her overall masculine-inspired look by sporting somber-colored separates, or give your look just a hint of Seydoux's tomboyish vibe by pairing the hat with a sweet floral dress.
Forever 21 Boucle Biker Jacket ($35) in Blue/Black
Chic coats and jackets make up a good portion of Seydoux's wardrobe, so we're certain she'd swoon over Forever 21's cropped biker version. As a bonus, this jacket features tough, trendy details like a notched collar and off-center front zipper, as well as a totally affordable price tag.
Aubin & Wills Lymore Striped Cotton-Blend T-Shirt ($65) in Red and Vintage White
Simple as a striped t-shirt may be, when it comes in a semi-sheer fabric and faded finish like this Aubin & Wills rendition, it takes on effortless charm (much like Seydoux's everyday style!). This casual shirt is exactly the kind of throw-on-and-go piece we imagine Seydoux relies on daily.
Rachel Rachel Roy The Palladium Dress ($139) in Black
Rachel Roy's sleek, short-sleeved number is a modern take on the little black dress. For a getup similar to Seydoux's, slip into this fashion-forward frock and leave the piled-on accessories at home. Just make sure your beauty look includes a bright red lip and not-so-perfect hair (like Seydoux's slightly unraveled plait).
Michael Spirito Triple Skull Ring ($133, 310.451.0950) in Green/Navy/Lilac
Despite her love of stark minimalism, Seydoux occasionally indulges in statement jewelry. You can do the same by punching up your look with Michael Spirito's flashy gold ring. Featuring three skull heads adorned with colored stones, this bauble is really all you need to enhance even the simplest of outfits.
Shiseido Shimmering Rouge Lipstick ($25) in Opal
You may have noticed how Seydoux is the lucky owner of a perfect plump pout, always tinged in a natural-looking pinkish or reddish shade. After scouring the landscape of lipsticks currently on the market, we discovered Shiseido's shimmery version, one that infuses your lips with both brilliant color and shine to achieve Seydoux's kisser.
Kolae Bran Trousers ($198) in Emerald Green
While pieces in inky shades like black, gray, and blue have carved out a permanent space in Seydoux's wardrobe, she does have an eye for vibrant colors. These Kolae silk pants in rich emerald green still remain on the darker end of the color spectrum, but have just enough vibrancy to jazz up an austere look.
Ann Taylor Perfect Pointy Toe Pumps ($178) in True Khaki
No Seydoux ensemble would appear complete without a pair of classic, versatile pumps, like these Ann Taylor ones with an interesting, textured finish. The shoes are a lovely blend of ladylike sophistication (a delicate pointy-toe shape) and comfort (a manageable heel height), both Seydoux-approved qualities!-Tiffany Tse
