Juno Temple

We've given British tastemakers lots of love this month-but can you blame us? The UK is responsible for producing some of the most talented and uber-stylish ladies around, an ever-expanding list that includes our January Girl of the Month, Juno Temple! Charming Hollywood since the tender age of fifteen with roles in Atonement and Notes on a Scandal, Temple has gone on to star in a slew of must-see indie films (like Little Birds with Kate Bosworth, which comes out this summer) and has buzz-worthy projects in the works (including The Dark Knight Rises and the currently-shooting Lovelace). Style-wise, we've found Temple equally exciting! Much like her infamous curly blonde locks, her sartorial sensibilities are fearless and untamed, leading us to safely assume she'll be this year's cool girl, both on and off the silver screen!

As you've most likely gathered by now, Temple has a diverse and quirky approach to fashion, rotating between playful, girly frocks and edgy ensembles with a downtown insouciance. In regards to the former, we're crazy about the Mulberry denim dress-specifically, the Bow Back Gems Dress ($1000)-she wore to a party celebrating the British brand's S/S 12 collection in Los Angeles last month (top, right). Studded with multi-colored gems, the frock has a touch of youthful charm befitting of our GOTM, while her chunky black platforms and Mulberry Travel Day Bag ($1750) in Shiny Oak ground the whole look.

In addition to Temple's fun and feminine looks, we're also fans of her daring, tough-girl ensembles. Praise is certainly in order for the getup she assembled for the Los Angeles premiere of Sucker Punch early last year. We love that the starlet didn't play it safe on the red carpet, opting for a revealing sheer lace top and leather pants combo in lieu of a fancy dress (bottom, right). However, it was the way she expertly layered the boudoir-inspired top with a long wool coat that gave the outfit its cool, nonchalant appeal. Speaking of Temple's smart styling skills, we'd also like to point out her ability to execute the latest trends in noteworthy ways. For example, at a video game launch party in Los Angeles last year, Temple selected a classic khaki trench coat, which she made her own by knotting the belt and adding a few edgy touches, including a studded bag and chunky Mary Jane platforms (center).

Fortunately for you, dear readers, Temple's spunky style is easy to attain, especially since we've done all the hard work for you! From a knockout neon frock to an adorable polka-dot bag, today's selection of fashion and beauty items are not only completely on trend, but also perfectly embody Temple's free spirit and playful fashion sense.

Tibi Katya Lace ¾ Sleeve Top ($265) in Cobalt
If you asked us to describe the ideal top for Temple, we have a feeling it would look a lot like this one by Tibi. She'd get a kick out of the vibrant cobalt blue color, but we imagine she'd appreciate the girly, delicate lace overlay and semi-sheer neckline too. While we envision Temple wearing this top with a pair of leather pants and sturdy ankle boots, it would look just as memorable styled with a pleated skirt and t-strap heels.

Forever 21 Trench Coat ($33) in Khaki
Not only is the trench one of Temple's beloved wardrobe staples, it also happens to be one of the most in-demand outerwear options right now-all the more reason to pick up Forever 21's affordable and super-stylish version today! Featuring all the elements of a classic trench, we have a hunch this will become a closet go-to for many years!

M.A.C. Cosmetics Iris Apfel Collection Lipstick ($15) in Scarlet Ibis
Though Temple typically goes for an au natural beauty look, she's never without a perfectly-pink pout. As such, our next curated pick is a new and noteworthy hue from M.A.C.'s Iris Apfel collection-a similarly bold and eclectic woman. This creamy, orange-red lipstick will provide a splendid Temple-inspired pop of color to any look.

H&M Neon Dress ($60, 310.855.9683)
Thanks to its standout neon green hue and party-perfect silhouette, this dress practically screams Temple! Hitting stores mid-February, consider it an excellent transition piece and a foolproof way to amp up your wardrobe. Our styling advice: Imitate Temple and wear it now with opaque tights and chunky platforms, then come spring, style the frock with a pair of equally bright sandals for a high-impact look!

H&M Sunglasses ($13, 310.855.9683)
We firmly stand by the belief that a girl can never own too many sunglasses, which is why we couldn't resist including this pair from H&M. The beloved retailer must have had Temple in mind when designing these super cool shades, which boast an unexpected pale bone color, modern shape, and fun neon orange rim.

BCBGeneration Stevie Platforms ($118) in Black
We can't think of a more fitting pair of shoes for our sprightly GOTM than BCBGeneration's Stevie Platforms. Combining the youthfulness of Mary Janes with the edginess of a '90s-inspired platform, these heels demand attention in all the right ways, just like Temple.

BB Dakota Veda Skirt ($70) in Black
Considering Temple's easygoing aesthetic, BB Dakota's Veda Skirt seems like a natural pick for the starlet. For starters, the elastic waistline lends itself to a comfortable, throw-on-and-go look, plus the asymmetrical hemline gives it a cool, modern look perfect for showing off a killer pair of heels!

Marc by Marc Jacobs Dotty Snake Lil Ukita Bag ($298) in Linen Dot Multi
Of all the fun carriers to choose from for today's story, we hit the nail on the head with this cheeky Marc by Marc Jacobs bag! Our GOTM would undoubtedly find its quirky polka-dot print and relaxed, slouchy shape attractive. Bonus: Its detachable shoulder strap allows it to function as either a small shoulder bag or an on-the-go satchel!
