Alexia Niedzielski

Alexia Niedzielski
Wednesday, November, 16, 2011 While it's true that there are lots of impeccably dressed women who are part of the international social scene, few are as fearless and fun as today's subject, Alexia Niedzielski. The Parisian photographer and co-founder of Ever Manifesto-a sustainable fashion magazine distributed at Milan and Paris Fashion Week-has been on our fashion radar for sometime now, but we've noticed her anew thanks to a recent assortment of achingly stylish and utterly cool ensembles! With a fondness for easy style and an eye for bold, of-the-moment prints, we knew right away Niedzielski would be the perfect subject for our November Girl of the Month feature.

While it's not always easy to pull off that undone-yet-very-chic look, it's clear that Niedzielski has it down to a science. Take, for example, the outfit she put together for a Hogan cocktail party in Italy earlier this summer (top right). The brunette beauty turned up in a Vanessa Bruno bold botanical-print dress paired with Fendi lace-up wooden wedges, both of which were perfect in keeping with the evening's tropical theme. Thanks to the frock's loose fit-which revealed just the right amount of the black slip underneath-and her naturally tousled hair, the result was a fuss-free, island-inspired look. Speaking of unfettered ensembles, Niedzielski looked equally ravishing in a long-sleeve sequined Stella McCartney dress at the designer's S/S 12 show last month (second from left). We completely approve of her minimal accessories-tan flat sandals she picked up in Capri and an adorable bear-face pendant necklace-which not only tempers the frock's dressiness but also gives the whole look a more down-to-earth vibe.

In addition to her appreciation for easy-breezy ensembles, Niedzielski also adores an eye-catching pattern from time to time. At the Miu Miu S/S 12 show early last month, she created a high-voltage look by styling a graphic floral-print Bottega Veneta dress with a green marbled cardigan (also by Bottega Veneta) and a turquoise Fendi messenger bag (bottom right). A month earlier, at the opening of the Richard Hambleton: A Retrospective exhibition in New York, we spotted Niedzielski in another wild print, this time a pair of yellow leopard-print skinnies she picked up from What Goes Around Comes Around in New York, which she teamed with a vintage nude Yves Saint Lauren corset top and Charlotte Olympia heels for a fun, slightly seductive, and outrageously stylish after-hours look (far left).

With these outfit choices in mind, we've rounded up a wonderful selection of products that reflect Niedzielski's effortless and assured approach to dressing perfectly. From an essential pair of ankle boots to a delightfully quirky necklace, see how you can inject some Niedzielski panache into your daily mix.

Club Monaco Gabi Cardigan ($149.50, 310.657.1818) in Beige Mix
Club Monaco has long been our go-to when it comes to snagging the season's best wardrobe must-haves at affordable prices, so naturally, it was our first stop when searching for today's key items! The brand's Gabi Cardigan immediately stood out, thanks to its marble-like design, which looks like a neutral version of Niedzielski's green Bottega Veneta sweater. While the cardi would look smart worn over a simple t-shirt and jeans for a casual outing, we also advise you to take a page from our GOTM's playbook and layer it over a printed dress for an intriguing daytime outfit.

Le Petite Princesse Flat Rectangle Top Rings ($98 each)
Seeing as Niedzielski isn't one for loading on the chunky costume jewelry, we think these flat top rings from Le Petite Princesse fit the bill perfectly. Sure, they're small, but they more than make up for it with their one-of-a-kind raw design and artistic qualities. Make them your own by wearing them separately on a few fingers or stack several on a single digit.

Tsumori Chisato Long Tie Front Dress ($508)
When examining Niedzielski's dress choices, we noticed a common thread: a relaxed fit. Bearing that in mind, we were as pleased as can be when we came across this long, tie-front dress by Tsumori Chisato. In addition to its effortless, throw-on-and-go feel, we're positive Niedzielski would approve of its incredibly soft and cozy wool-blend jersey fabric, which also happens to be perfect for the chilly months ahead! If you'd like to try a more budget-friendly alternative, Autumn Cashmere's Knot Tie Drape Front Dress ($215) and Mossimo's Ultrasoft Twist Front Sweater Dress ($30) are both swell options worth checking out.

Charlotte Ronson A Perfect Mess Beach Hair ($20) in 4 oz.
If you love Niedzielski's perfectly tousled waves as much as we do, then you'll definitely want to pick up Charlotte Ronson's A Perfect Mess Beach Hair right away. Trust us, this bottle works wonders! Spray it through your wet or damp locks, and the expert formula gives you instant texture, waves, and a natural shine, so you can have that free-spirited, back-from-the-beach hair all year long-yes please!

3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Mini Satchel ($750) in Pistachio
Considering we're devoted fans of 3.1 Phillip Lim's drool-worthy Pashli Satchel, it should come as no surprise that we fell hard for it's petite sister, the Pashli Mini Satchel. We have a hunch our GOTM would be head-over-heels for it too! For starters, its small size and adjustable shoulder strap is ideal for an it-girl on the go. We also believe she would be drawn to the luxurious look of the painted croc-print as well as the bright pistachio hue, and could imagine her teaming the bag with a wildly patterned frock for a knockout evening look. Want to snag a less pricey option? Etienne Aigner's Waverly Satchel ($120) will certainly do the trick!

dv by Dolce Vita Jamison Ankle Boots ($119) in Black
A key piece in every girl's wardrobe should be a pair of suede booties, which brings us to our next selection: dv by Dolce Vita's Jamison Ankle Boots. A versatile shoe, to be sure, these boots manage to be both casual and chic at the same time, which speaks perfectly to Niedzielski's sensibilities. Pair them with a silky shirtdress for a fashion event or with a chunky knit and pair of skinny jeans for a day at the flea market.

Of Two Minds Palma Cheetah Print Silk Pants ($295, 323.969.1962)
Our story wouldn't be up to par without a nod to our style subject's love of playful patterns, and we think we've nailed it on the head with these trousers by Of Two Minds. They were an obvious choice for many reasons, including the chic animal print, which has the most gorgeous bright blue hue speckled throughout. Also noteworthy are the trousers' relaxed silhouette and luxurious fabric, a combination Niedzielski would surely enjoy.

Mango Lion Necklace ($30)
We're kind of obsessed with Niedzielski's bear pendant necklace-it's quite adorable and makes for a fun statement piece. Accordingly, we were thrilled to find this nearly identical lion version from Mango. We love that has a vintage feel and looks like it could have been picked up while traveling abroad, plus the price is definitely right! Use it to elevate a casual weekend look or to add further interest to a textured frock a la Niedzielski.-Jessica Baker
