Gigi Hadid Says This Is THE Denim Trend to Try Now

Erin Fitzpatrick

When Gigi Hadid doles out trend advice, you better believe we listen. Last night, Who What Wear caught up with the model-turned-designer at Tommy Hilfiger's Venice Beach runway show, where she debuted her latest Tommy x Gigi collection (among carnival rides, acrobats, and a Fergie performance, no less).

When we asked Hadid about her favorite denim trend for spring, she immediately thought of the collection's patched jeans and explained the story behind them. "They were super inspired by Tommy himself," Hadid told Who What Wear. "That was actually an archive piece I found, which Tommy had patched with his siblings and cousins in an original Tommy Jeans workshop store. So it was really cool to find those."

She went on to explain exactly why these specific jeans were so appealing to her. "They also go along with what into what I'm really into now, which is artsy-craftsy denim—finding old pieces and making them your own, tailoring them, making them cropped, putting patches on them," she told us. "I think that's really in right now: Just being creative and making things very you. That's what we tried to do with these pieces." So if you're looking for the next denim trend to invest in, we officially found your answer.
