Teresa Palmer's Beauty Look

Teresa Palmer's beauty team nailed the sultry-meets-soft duality at the premiere of Warm Bodies. Their strategy? A mix of textured, high-shine hair alongside a smoky eye in an unexpected hue. The Aussie transplant, who's the global face of Artistry cosmetics and just launched a health and wellness website called Your Zen Life, is one of our favorite breakout stars of 2013.

Skin

Makeup artist Melanie Inglessis started with Artistry's Tinted Moisturizer ($25), blending it into the actress' skin with a damp beautyblender sponge ($20). "I really wanted light coverage and a healthy, dewy glow," Inglessis says. She brushed the brand's 3D Face Powder ($30) in Shimmery Pink all over Palmer's face with a big, fluffy brush and smoothed on Laura Mercier's Cream Cheek Color ($22) in Rosebud on the apples of Palmer's cheeks.

Eyes

Inglessis wanted to create a look that was "sweet but still daring," so she opted for a bronze and purple smoky eye, lining Palmer's top and bottom lash line with Artistry's Eyeliner Pencil ($13) in Bronzed Patina before reaching for the brand's Eye Colour ($12) in Eclipse. "I smudged the purple color into the crease for depth, and on the top and bottom lash line," she says. (For a similar look using a pencil Inglessis suggests Nars' Soft Touch Pencil ($24) in Trash.) Inglessis used Artistry's Eye Colour ($12) in Golden Pearl Water in the inner corners of the actress' eyes to make her eyes pop (try CoverGirl's Eye Enhancers ($4) in Champagne).

Lips

To keep the focus on Palmer's eyes, Inglessis chose a soft pink gloss. Try Laura Mercier's Lip Glace ($24) in Baby Doll or Maybelline's ColorSensational Lip Gloss ($8) in Almond Crush for this look.

Hair

"I wanted Teresa's hair to look like it'd been done before and then slept on--super smooth and shiny, but still textured," says hairstylist Mark Townsend. For the first part, he prepped the actress' damp hair with a generous amount of Dove's Nourishing Oil Care Anti-Frizz Serum ($7) before blowing it dry with a large round brush. "If you have fine hair, set the top sections in pin curls for volume while it cools," he says. Once dry, Townsend used a flat iron to create texture. "Take a four-inch section of hair, starting a few inches down from the root, and smooth the flat iron down the length for a few inches, then flick the iron to create a bend," he says. "Repeat every few inches, alternating the direction you twist and flick the iron." For volume he finished with the brand's Invigorating Dry Shampoo ($5). "This formula has starch instead of powder so it adds lots of volume," says Townsend. Volume, shine, and texture? We call that the perfect hairstyle.
