The It-Pieces Everyone Will Be Wearing This Fashion Week

We know the street style stars will be in showstopping looks, but which ones? Here are our predictions, tell us yours.

  • Despite the fact that it is still winter (see: recent NY snowfall), fashion month’s attendees wouldn’t be caught dead in last year’s attire. Instead, they will don the S/S 14 collections to sit front row at the F/W 14 fashion shows. Still following us? Click through to see the spring pieces guaranteed to start a photo frenzy.

  • Proenza Schouler

Proenza Schouler's Metallic, Pleated Skirt and Sweatshirt

  • Vanessa Traina Snow

This stylist favors sharp lines and neutral color palettes, which naturally puts the Proenza Schouler S/S 14 collection at the top of the list. The fact that she is great friends with the designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez makes it even more fitting.

  • Dolce and Gabanna

Dolce and Gabanna's Mini Dress and Chunky Gold Belt

  • Anna Dello Russo

Partial to high hemlines and chunky, gold accessories, the editor-at-large of Vogue Japan gravitates towards Dolce and Gabanna.

  • Calvin Klein

    Calvin Klein's Green Coat

  • Hanneli Mustaparta

The model/photographer has a clean aesthetic and embraces bold colors. Often found snapping away backstage at the Calvin Klein show, we can see her doing so with this green S/S 14 coat draped over her shoulders.

  • Christopher Kane

    Christopher Kane's Floral Anatomy Print

  • Natalie Joos

Casting agent and author of the blog Tales of Endearment, Joos is constantly photographed in bright colors and bold prints. We think the quirky floral motifs of Christopher Kane’s S/S 14 collection will fit the bill.

  • Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta's Printed Coat

  • Anna Wintour

A close friend of Oscar de la Renta’s and an undisputed fan of his printed coats, we suspect one of Wintour’s investment pieces for the season will come from his S/S 14 collection.

  • Chanel

    Chanel's Oversized Pearl Choker

  • Joanna Hillman

As Hillman has risen through the editorial ranks to her current position as Style Director for Harper’s Bazaar, we have noticed her penchant for serious statement accessories. Hopefully Chanel’s chunky pearl choker will be on heavy rotation this season.

  • Burberry Prorsum

    Burberry Prorsum's Pastel Lace

  • Alexa Chung

The model and contributing editor for British Vogue is known for adding a dash of whimsy to demure outfits. We hope she’ll choose this buttoned-up, peek-a-boo lace look when she attends Burberry Prorsum’s F/W 14 show.

  • Kenzo

    Kenzo's Phone Cord Necklace

  • Susie Lau

This kooky English blogger behind Style Bubble has been a very outspoken fan of Kenzo since designers Humberto Leon and Carol Lim debuted their first collection for the brand in S/S 12. Combined with her affinity for street-influenced looks, we think spotting her wearing the phone-cord necklace from Kenzo’s S/S 14 collection is a sure thing.

  • Alexander Wang

    Alexander Wang's Parental Advisory Sweatshirt

  • Hanne Gaby Odiele

Unlike her model counterparts, Odiele will not be seen arriving to shows in the model-off-duty uniform of biker boots and a leather jacket. To celebrate her outspoken fashion sense, we think she’ll opt for her friend Alexander Wang’s in-your-face sweater.

  • Valentino

    Valentino's Embroidered Cape

  • Miroslava Duma

A former Harper’s Bazaar Russia editor, current freelance writer and founder of the new style website Buro 24/7, Duma is a fashion month street style fixture. Never half-hearted in her sartorial conquests, we expect to see her in this dramatic Valentino cape to stave off the cold weather.

  • Prada

    Prada's Embellished Face-Print Dress

  • Shala Monroque

Considered a muse by Miuccia Prada, Creative Director of Garage and blogger Monroque earned her title through adventurous outfits and provocative accessories. We wouldn’t be surprised if she is seen in one of Prada’s embellished face-print pieces from S/S 14.

  • Altuzarra

    Altuzarra's Thigh-Slit Skirt

  • Carine Roitfeld

Credited by Joseph Altuzarra for putting him on the map when she wore a white coat from his F/W 09 collection to a show in Paris, its likely that the designer’s thigh-slit skirts will work their way into this editrix’s fashion month wardrobe.

  • Celine

Celine's Sculptural Heel and Brush-Print Dress

  • Taylor Tomasi Hill

Having left her position as Creative Director for Moda Operandi this past October, the newly appointed contributing editor of GOOP will return to the fashion scene in full force this season. We look forward to seeing her edgy choices, likely including these sculptural wedges and bright brush prints from Celine.

  • Miu Miu

    Miu Miu's Floral-Print Coat

  • Julia Sarr-Jamois

As fashion editor-at-large of i-D, Sarr-Jamois is always embracing the quirky and fun side of fashion. We think she’ll be spotted in S/S 14’s enlarged floral prints by way of this gorgeous Miu Miu version.

  • Lanvin

    Lanvin's Lamé Jacket

  • Leandra Medine

If anyone is confident in outrageously bold outfits it’s Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine. Undeterred by pieces such as culottes and creepers, we trust Medine with the task of bringing Lanvin’s lamé to the streets.

  • Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton's Embellished Jacket and Loose Jeans

  • Cara Delevingne

Delevingne’s miraculous transformations from off-duty tomboy to runway bombshell fill us with awe season after season. We suspect her between-shows outfit will consist of baggy denim and tough jackets like this look from Marc Jacobs’ last collection for Louis Vuitton.
