Fashion Brands That Made a Comeback This Year
We love a good comeback—especially when the comeback involves some of our favorite fashion brands. Over the years, some of our most loved labels faded away into the background, but in 2017, we saw their triumphant return. Whether they’re newer and cooler or still retain that vintage DNA that made them famous, there are more than a few brands that made it back onto our radar.
To bring you best comeback stories, we Who What Wear editors are sharing the fashion brands we’re excited about all over again. Many of them are labels that were brought back from when we were growing up, so there’s a fair amount of fashion nostalgia in the mix. Want to see which ones made the list? Go on to read about why WWW editors are excited about these five fashion brands that made a comeback this year.
“As far as ’80s and ’90s athleisure brands go, Reebok is my favorite of the recent comeback stories. Wearing it feels a bit more unexpected than some of the other brands, and many of its pieces have an understated quality that suits my aesthetic.” — Allyson Payer, editor
“Swedish designer Johan Lindeberg recently came back to his namesake label after having left almost 10 years ago. I saw his comeback show in person during Stockholm Fashion Week in January and was seriously impressed, so I know he’ll continue to do bigger and better things this time around.” — Erin Fitzpatrick, news editor
“Thanks to the brand’s collaboration with Opening Ceremony, Esprit definitely got on the radar of every cool girl in the industry. That ’90s pastel-loving child within all of us definitely wasn’t complaining.” — Lauren Eggertsen, associate editor
“Fiorucci’s comeback this year definitely helped me step up my T-shirt game; the brand makes the coolest tees with bright graphics, and the fit is great.” —Michelle Scanga, managing editor
