As we’re sure you know by now, the Who What Wear staff has a thing for hats. Wide-brimmed, baseball, fedora — you name it! However, while we enjoy experimenting with new shapes and textures, there’s something just so perfect about fall’s go-to chapeau: the beanie!

Every since Hart stole our iPhone we’ve had our eye on her! The Australian model stepped out in New York in this delightful pastel ensemble. We love how she doubled up on the ribbed texture with her beanie and sweater, and kept the rest of her look simple with a white button-up shirt.

There’s no better way to break in your beanie than to wear it with a warm-hued coat! Muse attended the Burberry Prorsum show during London Fashion Week last month in their Metal Plate Cashmere Caban ($2595) and a beige beanie, and we’re still talking about it.
The Beauty Beanie [n]: a hat that serves as an accessory and as part of an overall beauty look, drawing attention to accents such as a strong brow and smokey eye.

If you’re in need of a beanie update, we suggest you try it with your favorite dress for a grunge-inspired outfit. BCBGMAXAZRIA’s F/W 13 runway was chalk full of looks showcasing ways to wear their Jacc Knit Beanie ($68).
Searching for the ultimate downtown look to introduce your beanie to? Try this. Charkoplia’s American Apparel beanie and Ray-Ban sunglasses pair perfectly with her black Zara blazer and Chick With Guns crop top. That black nail polish is pretty rad, too.

You guessed it! It was Paris where this chic street styler was snapped wearing a plaid, quilted jacket with jet-black aviators and a minimal, gray beanie. Oh, the French.
It doesn’t get much cuter than this! Our jaws dropped when we spotted this layered look courtesy of Sarinana. Her Missguided Petera Tweed Boyfriend Coat ($106) was the perfect addition to Madewell’s Denim Boyshirt ($70) and Alexander Wang t-shirt. Her leather Primary skirt gave the look a nice polish too, we’d say.

This look is some parts woodsy and all parts feminine. The secret? Gray matched with soft colors, like this baby pink coat.

We’d be lying if we said we didn’t love this look partly because it’s on Cara Delevingne, but there’s no denying the F/W 13 Tommy Hilfiger runway showed a bountiful collection of fall pieces to try out; including this Hat ($129, 212.223.1824) and Jacket ($1199, 212.223.1824)!

We know it’s a touch avant-garde, but how could you resist trying out a veiled beanie this fall after seeing Rihanna don her Silver Spoon Attire Mesh Bow Beanie ($128)?
