It's party season, which means it's time to put on your dancing shoes! As seasonal celebrators ourselves, we have identified the fashion fundamentals of the perfect party shoe and are happy to share our insights. 1. Comfort is key. The longer you can stand at a party with a smile on your face, the happier you (and your date!) will be. To help ease aching feet, look for a shoe with a platform; it gives you the illusion of a higher heel without the pain of one. A contrasting color platform in red or gold feels fresh and fun. 2. Go for texture and shine. Reach outside your comfort zone and try a shoe with visually interesting details like glitter, spikes, or lace. They feel special and miraculously go with everything (think: a floral skirt and a spike-covered stiletto or a glitter pump paired with a striped dress). If you're married to your LBD for the holidays, these little beauties will add instant allure to your holiday look. 3. Consider a festive ankle boot. We are fans of untraditional pairings for party outfits, like a delicate lace dress and a strong, black ankle boot or a swingy vintage dress paired with a modern bootie. Booties work well with tights and dresses as well, the combination of which will keep your tootsie warm and happy late into the night. And while you can definitely pick a pair in neutrals like black or nude, we are personally tickled by bolder choices like leopard, velvet, or anything embellished.
