8 Throwback Trends Elle Fanning Is Reigniting in a Big Way
Most of the looks to come out of the Cannes Film Festival are, uh, unattainable to say the least. Custom-made gowns with trains the length of a flight of stairs? Diamond necklaces that require the supervision of several beefy security guards? Crystal-embellished couture naked dresses that leave nothing at all to the imagination? Yeah, we'll leave those to the pros. (And by "pros" we mean Bella Hadid.)
One exception to the rule this year, however, was Elle Fanning, whose outfits (off the red carpet at least) were both quintessentially cool and not so intimidating we wouldn't try them at home. Styled by Samantha McMillen, the 19-year-old star wore a series of '60s- and '70s-tinged ensembles that showed off an impressive array of Prada and Miu Miu. No surprise there since Fanning is a face of the latter brand, but still, she always manages to inject some personality into the pieces rather than looking like she wandered straight off the runway.
Below, see and shop some of our favorite trends Fanning rocked in the South of France—and don't be surprised if you find your new summer #aesthetic.

When it comes to Elle-inspired sunnies, go big or go home—especially when there's a crowd of waiting paparazzi in your way.
