CommentsSpring is finally here, and we think it's time for a polish change! From bright neons to pretty pastels, we've selected our favorite shades for the season. Get ready to pack away your dark and dusty nail polishes because it's time for some new hues to make their grand debut!
Orly Nail Lacquer ($4) in Jealous, Much?
Our favorite new polish from Orly's Cool Romance collection is Jealous, Much?, as it offers a palette-cleaning punctuation to all of the season's sweet and ladylike looks! More pastel than Chanel's Jade polish from seasons past, this pretty mint hue feels fresh and will surely be a shade you'll wear all season long.
L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail Polish ($6) in Boozy Brunch
It's a fact: spring is all about bright colors, and this electric orange (with a hint of coral) would be the perfect complement to all your vibrant outfits this season! As its name reveals, it's also the perfect lacquer for Sunday brunch with the girls or any equally playful occasion.
Butter London Nail Polish ($14) in Slapper
Calling all fun and fearless fashion girls, Slapper by Butter London is the polish for you! This rich turquoise color was practically made for warm summer nights, so wear it with an equally bright maxi dress or make it pop against an all-black ensemble.
OPI Nail Polish Lacquer ($5) in Kiss Me On my Tulips
Leave it to OPI to come up with the most insanely cool, shocking pink polish for their S/S 12 Holland collection. The vibrant, blue-based pink is the perfect nod to Schiaparelli--and the Metropolitan Museum of Art's impending exhibition featuring the designer's and Miuccia Prada's work--plus it's actually quite flattering on almost any skin tone!
Dior Vernis Nail Lacquer ($23) in Saint Tropez
While we could recommend a variety of cool blue hues for you to try--it is the season's key nail polish color--we're particularly fond of Dior's Saint Tropez. We think this lacquer is a pitch-perfect choice for a warm-weather getaway and would look perfect with a little white bikini! (So Bardot!)
Estée Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Nail Lacquer ($19) in Hot Coral
If you're looking to stand out this season, a bright coral color is key! We're fans of Estee Lauder's Hot Coral because it's not too girly, but not outrageously bold either, so it will pair nicely with a range of floral prints.
Revlon Nail Enamel ($5) in Zealous
Chartreuse is one of our favorite colors right now--thanks, in no small part, to Oscar de la Renta's S/S 12 show--so perhaps that explains why we're so in love with Revlon's Zealous! The shimmering lacquer lends itself to an endless amount of pairings, so whether you're wearing a bright pink top or cobalt trousers, you'll have a winning look every time!
China Glaze Nail Polish ($7) in Surfin' for Boys
You'll have anything but a drab manicure with China Glaze's neon orange nail color in Surfin' for Boys from the brand's summer collection, which officially launches in May. Skip the neutral colors for a change and layer on a bold fluorescent shade with a brilliant touch of shimmer!
Yves Saint Laurent Duo Vernis Couleur ($30) in No. 7
As one half of YSL's new set of limited edition Manicure Couture duos, this slightly iridescent polish is the ideal pick if you're not ready to tackle neon polish, but don't want to go with a pastel. Subtly powerful, this garden-inspired green is the perfect lacquer to ground spring's more outrageous floral prints
Essie Nail Polish ($8) in Action
With warm weather and lots of sunshine in the forecast, we think a bright shade of orange is an excellent choice to celebrate the season. A lively tangerine hue like Essie's Action--it hits stores this May--is sure to leave a lasting impression and would complement both neutral and bright outfits alike!
Dolce & Gabbana Nail Polish ($20) in Lilac
Pastel polishes can seem rather girly, but if you're looking for a lighter shade that's still sophisticated, consider Dolce & Gabbana's perfectly balanced Lilac. While it references the current trends, the muted hue is unquestionably grown-up.--Kate Alper & Sheiva Shideh
