This Runway Had the Most Social Media Star Power, Probably Ever
Dolce & Gabbana is eyeing its future customers, which became evident with the recent casting of a slew of social media stars, celebrity offspring, and rising models for the brand's F/W 17 menswear show. Everyone from the Stallone sisters, fresh off their Miss Golden Globe gig, to Jude Law's son Rafferty Law graced the #DGMillennials runway. A quick scroll through Instagram revealed that the crop of fresh faces has a combined following of 30 million—and that's just the stats for six of the many who modeled the 100-plus looks.
20-year-old pop singer Austin Mahone provided the tunes for the fashion show while Cameron Dallas opened the show in a burgundy and black suit. Can you say social media moment? The international lineup of models featured entertainment superstars like Chinese actor Chen Xue Dong, Mexican YouTube star Juanpa Zurita, and British rapper Tinie Tempah, who added modeling to their résumés as they graced the runway in brocade prints and sleek dress shoes. The 20-something band of models reached millions with their social media posts alone, proving that the royalty-themed show's casting was spot on, as millennials continue to reign supreme in the social media world.
