Whether you’re stepping out with your long-term beau or meeting up with someone new, date night is the a chance to show off your charm, let loose, and play up your style. For blogger Jenny Cipoletti of Margo & Me, who married her husband, Freddie, a year ago, date night is a hallowed event they observe once a week.

"Sometimes we feel like getting dressed up, going to our favorite restaurant, and splurging on a nice bottle of wine, while other date nights are far more casual,” the blogger shares.

For this particular night, casual meant a knit sweater paired with some edgy over-the-knee boots and topped off with some sparkly pieces from Hearts On Fire. Ultimately, the blogger says, you want to settle on a look that reveals a bit of your personality and makes you feel powerful and confident (which, after all, is the most attractive attribute of all).

Date night is important for any couple, but for Cipoletti and her husband (who also happens to be the photographer behind Margo & Me), it’s doubly so. "Since Freddie and I work together, [date night] is a time when we both make a point to disconnect and not talk about work,” Cipoletti explains. "It’s a time to connect on all the other important things you should connect on as a couple.”

On this particular night, the jet-setting pair’s evening involved exploring The Cotswolds in southern England and having dinner at a local restaurant. For this outing, Cipoletti went with a bell-sleeve blouse layered under a knit sweater with a very on-trend frilled hem and a blush-pink coat to top the look.

Even when her date-night plans are of the more laid-back variety, Cipoletti always adds jewelry to her outfit. "I truly feel naked when I’m not wearing any,” she shares. But you don’t want to overdo it, she cautions. "You want your jewelry to complement your look on date night, not overwhelm your neckline.” For that reason, she loves daintier diamond pieces that add just the right amount of sparkle, like this pendant necklace from Hearts On Fire

In addition to necklaces, Cipoletti’s date-night must-haves include a single ring that wraps around two fingers, like this Hearts on Fire Aerial Double Ring. ("It’s a beautiful way to catch your S.O.’s eye,” she says).

To finish, she pulled on a pair of over-the-knee boots and topped the whole look off with a chic tailored coat to ward against the chill of fall nights.
