This Shoes-and-Jeans Combo Is Going to Be Huge

Since cropped flares have officially trumped them all to become the It denim style of 2016, it’s time to start thinking about how to transition them into fall. Well, if you take a look at the street style of recent fashion weeks, therein lies your answer. Every editor, blogger, and off-duty model has endorsed one shoe style in particular with cropped flares: ankle boots. Most often we see the midcalf variety, but if you prefer to flash a bit of skin at the ankle with a shorter pair, it’s an equally cool look (and perhaps more seasonally appropriate while we’re still in the warmer months).

The reason that this is an ideal pairing is simple, practical, and mutually beneficial for both the jeans and the boots: When wearing jeans with a slimmer leg opening, it can be tricky to find boots that hit at the perfect place, so most would opt to just avoid the shoe style altogether (which is a crying shame). With cropped flares, you get to show off your boots without the worry of whether you should tuck your jeans in or roll them up. Win-win! All signs lead us to predict that you’ll see every fashion girl pairing their cropped flares with ankle and mid-calf boots very soon.
