Coco Chanel’s French Riviera Outfit From 1930 Is Everything

Kat Collings

While we’ll always pause to call out new celeb looks that catch our eye (a couple recent favorites include Emma Roberts wearing what will be the It jeans of 2016 and Gigi Hadid in one of the best airport outfits to date), we’re just as likely to find inspiration from stylish vintage photos. Case in point: the photo below of Coco Chanel circa 1930 at her home on the French Riviera. What immediately struck us about the rare image? Chanel’s utterly timeless outfit, bien sûr. The classic Breton shirt and belted wide-leg pants feel as on point today as they likely did in 1930, which is an auspicious sign for the outfit’s continued relevance far into the future.
