"While I think vintage-inspired patterns are fun to look at, floral and tapestry prints can photograph super flat or unflattering once worn on the body. I love what brands like Gucci and Coach have done in terms of collaging or blocking these prints—definitely not your grandma’s vintage dresses." — Alex Sweterlitsch
"Think sporty stripes or grid patterns, graphic prints are the best at silhouetting and streamlining the figure. They can highlight parts of the body if worn tight or draw your eyes elsewhere when worn loose. These prints look best in bright colors or black-and-white." — Alex Sweterlitsch
"Not only is tie-dye super trendy right now, I think it’s a great way to incorporate prints and add dimension if you normally wear solid colors. Stick to subtle, soft neutrals and rich hues in silk or cotton fabric, and it can look elevated rather than bad festival fashion." — Alex Sweterlitsch
