This Debut Collection Is Destined for It-Bag Status

Adrianna Barrionuevo

Los Angeles–based handbag designer Carolina Santo Domingo knows how to create accessories that reach It-bag status. She's the mastermind behind Staud's popular Bissett bag, and she launched her namesake brand on Moda Operandi today.

Santo Domingo's debut collection has somewhat of a similar feel to the minimal drum-shaped bag she became known for. The spring lineup features three different styles in various colorways that all share common design elements: classic clean lines and timeless silhouettes. The ladylike Sirena leather tote and the geometric Amphora top-handle bag—available in white, neutral, black, and burgundy—are small yet versatile, featuring crossbody straps and a drawstring interior (like the Bissett) that can be tucked inside.

No doubt that the fashion crowd will clamor over the handcrafted Italian pieces, but the Corallina raffia tote—made with a faux marble handle—stands out from the pack as an It girl must-have this season. Get ready to see a lot more of Santo Domingo's designs all over your social media feed because these bags are about to be spotted everywhere.
