What better way to pay homage to the golden age of motorcycle culture than with an exhibition focused around the leather jacket? Levis Vintage Clothing is doing just that with The Biker with Oil and Leather & The Bikeriders, a tribute exhibition to the American biker. This is an exhibit you dont want to miss, featuring 21 limited edition, hand-painted motorcycle jackets commissioned from artists across the globe, as well as images and clips from Danny Lyons historic photo-documentary, The Bikeriders. The latter offers an inside look at the dangerous and romantic biker lifestyle as seen through the Chicago Outlaws Motorcycle Club in 1968.
Much like a nomadic biker, the exhibit will make its way across the globe. Currently residing at the Union Square flagship store in San Francisco through November 25th, the exhibit will pick up and travel to New York November 30th to December 2nd, and then head to the Levis store in Shinjuku, Tokyo, where the jackets will eventually be sold with proceeds benefiting charity.
