When we found out Editorial Director Hillary Kerr was jetting off to France for the Cannes International Film Festival this week, we simply had to find out what was on her packing wish list! As one of the most glamorous film festivals in the world, Cannes is full of opportunities to showcase your most sumptuous and sophisticated pieces, so we certainly didnt want to limit Kerrs imaginary budget. From a dramatic Oscar de la Renta gown perfectly suited for glitzy soirees to a fun yellow bikini ideal for poolside lounging in the sun, check out her dream packing list for Cannes, and let us know what youd bring with you to the south of France! 1. Shourouk E. Vegas Sequin and Crystal Earrings ($350) Ive heard Cannes is a European version of Hollywood-meets-Vegas, so these razzle-dazzle earrings would fit in perfectly. Id wear them with my Maje Bardot t-shirt and a fitted black midi skirt during the day, then style them with a cobalt cocktail dress come evening. 2. DVF Ruthanne Pencil Skirt ($275) Its not all premieres and pool time at the Hotel du Cap pour moi! I have business meetings to attend, so packing a work-appropriate pencil skirt in a Cannes sunset shade of coral seems like a smart choice. 3. Bulgari Small Serpenti Shoulder Bag ($1700) in Yellow Leather You may remember this bag from my Spring Picks story and guess what? Im still obsessed with it. Its sure to perk up any daytime ensemble, plus its stylish and small enough for evening cocktails. 4. Oscar de la Renta One-Shoulder Silk-Chiffon Gown ($4690) Mr. de la Renta makes gowns that are wildly gorgeous and unquestionably glamorous, so this floor-length stunner is my dream dress. The thigh-high slit makes it just daring enough for the south of France, plus everyone knows Oscar does the best greens, right @OscarPRGirl? 5. Callula Lillibelle Stretch Lace and Polka-Dot Chiffon Dress ($495) Im crazy about this feminine line"the Kate Jacquard and Mesh Peplum Midi Dress ($480) is going to be my go-to frock for weddings this summer"especially this sweet polka-dot dress. I think it looks pitch-perfect for a ros-filled brunch on la Croisette, dont you? 6. Manolo Blahnik BB Suede Point Toe Pumps ($595) Ever since I saw my stylist/designer pal Emily Current wearing a pair of bright green Manolo BB heels, Ive been obsessed with the idea of getting my own vibrant pair. Since Im all about cobalt right now, Id love this particular pair, and I think theyd look swell with A.L.C.s Betsee Dress ($645) and a chartreuse bag, perhaps Oscar de la Rentas Cara Clutch ($1795)? 7. LWren Scott Floral-Print Georgette Pussy-Bow Top ($1270) Ladylike blouses are part of my repertoire, so it probably comes as no surprise that Im swooning over this print number by LWren Scott. Id wear it with a cream leather pencil skirt to make it a little less sweet. 8. Aurlie Bidermann Mendoza Necklace ($1790) Cannes is the perfect time to pay homage to French designers, so Aurlie Bidermanns jewelry is a must-pack. Her more casual braided bracelets are some of my favorite day-to-day pieces, and this blue enamel and gold choker is an accessory dream of mine. Worn with a minimalist gown or sheath, it would be a total knockout. 9. Mulberry Fold Up Medium Clipper Carryall ($420) I always admire people with interesting luggage, so to become one of them Id pack up my dream picks in this lightweight duffle from Mulberry. The green and navy leopard print is sure to stand out in a crowd, plus the fact that its made from water-resistant nylon means I could also use it as a beach bag! 10. J. Crew String Top ($40) and String Hipster ($38) in Dazzling Sun My Cannes schedule is quite full, but Im hoping Ill have a second to relax by the pool or visit the famed Hotel du Cap. If that happens, Ill be sunning myself in a simple bikini in a cheerful shade of yellow. The side-tie bottoms are flattering and forgiving for a girl with hips like mine, plus the classic triangle top always works on my frame. 11. Linda Farrow for The Row Leather Aviator Sunglasses ($350) Im not always one for investment sunglasses in real life, but if I wasnt watching my budget, Id splurge on these leather-accented aviators. The style is a nod to my pops, who was a Topgun pilot and instructor, while the bright yellow leather reminds me of my mom (she loves a bright color!). 12. Timo Weiland Tennessee Dress ($506) This wonderful white dress made a big splash at Mulberrys Coachella party (I seriously got more compliments on it than just about anything I own), so youd best believe its going in my Cannes suitcase! 13. Repossi Nre Cuff ($64,560) What would a dream packing list be without a true fantasy piece, like this outrageously breathtaking Repossi cuff? Made from black gold and festooned with 1252 white diamonds, this piece was simply made for the red carpet.
