NYFW: Michael Kors

Friday, September 17, 2010

Thanks to his insanely gorgeous F/W 10 collection, we were dying-dying-dying to see Michael Kors’ spring show. The uber-quipy designer showed a huge number of looks—over 60, which is insane—of California-inspired, easy-luxe ensembles. To the sounds of the George Harrison-penned Beatles song, “Here Comes The Sun,” models strolled around the runway in simple slouchy suits, floor-length skirts worn with casual long-sleeve shirts, cozy chunky cardis, and loads of great trenches in various colors and materials. While there were lots of neutrals, the collection also included perky pops of pink, leaf green, and vibrant marigold. Accessory-wise we noted amazing oversized woven bags, rope and leather belts, and a slew of the most perfect leather belts you’ve ever seen. Katherine and I both loved it—and so will you, we suspect!

The first look—super fresh

Nice + neutral

Marigold + rope belt = gorgeous

One excellent example of a MK trench.

Giant beach bag delight!

Understated perfection

Loved Karlie in this look!

The perfect mix of fancy and fun.
